EWF - Mission
| The mission of the East West Foundation is to promote and to spread knowledge and appreciation of modern Plastic Art from Asia in Western Europe, especially in The Netherlands. Did the EWF start with the Northern half of East-Asia, since 1998 the Middle East became also a focal point of EWF-attention.
Studying the development of Fine Art in a country or a region, visiting artists, museums, galleries, exchanging ideas, organizing exhibition projects and giving publicity to these projects the EWF raises and strengthens public interest in Asian Fine Art, mostly pain-tings and works on paper.
Although in principle shows in a museum are not excluded in general the EWF wants to offer Asian artists not only an occasion to show but also to sell their paintings in galleries and on other exhibition places where the works of art can be sold. Part of a project is to invite artists to visit the opening of their show and to make any acquaintance with the Netherlands and the Dutch art scene.
